Trusting Directions

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight."

-- Proverbs 3:5

We spent yesterday in Maine while my husband preached at a Theology school. I got to spend some much needed time with my daughter & a good friend who lives up there. I'll share more about this tomorrow with you.

In the meantime, please reflect on the verse above.

Trust Him, Acknowledge Him, Let Him do His thing in your life. Every day. No matter how tough it may seem -- just give him ROOM. We serve a mighty God with a GREAT resume (as one friend puts it). When you step aside, you let the Almighty be just that. And you can take refuge in knowing He is fighting and working on your behalf. He is bringing you to an expected end. So get on OUT of the way, and let the Lord work!!

In my mind I think of it this way:

If you are going on a road trip to a new place, you need directions to get there. So either you ask a friend, use MapQuest or a GPS system. If you have NEVER been to your destination before, it's probably not a good idea to drive half way there and toss out your directions to "wing it". Right?

You'd likely end up SOMEWHERE...but not where you wanted to be. So you have to TRUST the directions to take you there.

It is the same with the Lord and using His word (the Bible)as a guide. As a lamp to your feet and light to your path.

Trust that HIS word is true. That it won't lead you wrong.

If you follow it all the way, it can take you to the best places you have ever been.

Or you can "wing it" and spend too many years upset about what you could have been, done or seen.

TRUST Him today. He will never let you down. LOVE never fails. And God is love.
